Plus a New Paranormal Experience and a Special Guest Best Known for his Tighty Whities

TAMPA, Fla. (August 10, 2019) – None of us have forgotten the 13-page behemoth press release that announced the A Nightmare on Franklin Street series in its entirety a few years ago. That’s just how much space it took to enumerate all off the wicked tricks and tasty treats we had in store back then. Now? The series has mutated to include MORE films, MORE special events, MORE tours and – for the first time ever – two LIVE spine-chilling shows.

One press release cannot contain so much gruesome goodness.

Instead, we’ll parse it out a bit. Today, Tampa Theatre is proud to announce the live components of our seventh-annual Halloween series, coming to the historic movie palace Oct. 18-31, as well as dates for our popular Ghosts of Tampa Theatre Tours and an all-new Paranormal Investigative Experience. Soon, we’ll follow up with all of the movie dates and titles, plus news of a freakishly friendly little competition with a cash prize on the line.

8:00pm Friday, Oct. 18

AEG Presents and Tampa Theatre are proud to announce that the Theatre will kick off its popular A Nightmare on Franklin Street series with Last Podcast on the Left LIVE on stage on October 18.

Last Podcast on the Left barrels headlong into all things horror — as hosts Ben Kissel, Marcus Parks and Henry Zebrowski cover dark subjects spanning Jeffrey Dahmer, werewolves, Jonestown, iconic hauntings, the history of war crimes, and more. Whether it’s cults, killers, or cryptid encounters, Last Podcast on the Left laughs into the abyss that is the dark side of humanity.

Tickets for the “Back in the Habit World Tour” range from $29.50 -$39.50, plus applicable fees. A limited number of VIP Meet & Greet tickets will also be available in advance for $150.00 plus fees, which include one premium seat, a LPOTL VIP laminate, a signed tour poster, and meet & greet after the show.

THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW: Special LIVE pre-show with Barry Bostwick (Brad)
7:00pm & Midnight, Saturday, Oct. 19

Does The Rocky Horror Picture Show need any introduction? Clearly not: It’s a cultural artifact with unlimited lifespan — it creates new audiences for itself each screening, and will most likely continue to be shown in theatres until the end of linear time.

But Tampa Theatre is going to give it one anyway, delivered LIVE on the Theatre’s historic stage by none other than Brad himself, Barry Bostwick, who will talk about his experience making RHPS and welcome all of the Rocky virgins personally. (Janet’s first time wasn’t with Brad… but yours could be!)

Tickets are $26.00, plus fees. A limited number of VIP Meet & Greet tickets will also be available in advance for $101.00 plus fees, which include early admission to the show, a photo-op with Barry (please bring your own camera), and the opportunity to have one personal item autographed.

7:00pm Saturday, Oct. 26

Called “one of the most unique theater troupes in the country” by Good Day Atlanta, Phantasmagoria brings their unique brand of “whimsical macabre” terrors to the lineup, presenting the 10th anniversary main stage installment of their long-running, critically acclaimed series LIVE on the Theatre’s stage.

Join Phantasmagoria’s evocative troupe of storytellers, dancers, and chorus as they embark on all-new dark journeys through literary tales of terror, horrific folk stories, legends, and myths. From the terror of a beast hidden deep within in “The Horla,” to the Penny Dreadful horrors of “Sawney Beane,” and drawn from the imaginations of the Brothers Grimm, Edgar Allan Poe, and more, Phantasmagoria X – “Reckoning” is sure to set the tone for a truly Phantasmagorical Halloween season. Live performers, “Phantastical” dance, explosive stage combat, puppetry, projections and haunting storytelling combine to create a tapestry of macabre and whimsical horror. NOTE: This show contains elements of horror and is recommended for children 8 and older.

Tickets are $26.00, plus fees.

Who was the man in seat 308? Where did Robert Lanier tear his final ticket? Why does Fink Finley continue to roam the balcony? And what has led to Tampa Theatre being known as one of the most haunted buildings in town? Learn the Theatre’s secrets and stories with a “balcony to backstage” tour that will focus on the historic movie palace’s preternatural patrons and eternal employees.

The 75-minute tour kicks off in the lobby and does include stairs and extended periods of standing.

**NEW THIS YEAR: Go beyond the stories and spend some time investigating Tampa Theatre’s supernatural claims for yourself! The new Paranormal Investigation Experience add-on allows a limited number of guests to stay after the Sunday evening tours from 10:30pm to midnight on Oct. 20 and 27 to review previously collected video, photo and audio evidence of Tampa Theatre’s spirit activity, use professional equipment and investigate alongside the researchers from Genesis Paranormal Services. Admission is limited to 25 participants.

Ghost Tour tickets are $15 for general admission / FREE for Tampa Theatre Members. The Paranormal Investigation Experience add-on is $25 for general admission / $20 for Members.  (Tour ticket purchase is required to access add-on experience.)
