A warm welcome, a sincere thank you and indulgent, comfort foods are just some of the memorable moments that guests will experience as they walk through Metro Diner’s doors on Tuesday, May 29. Just ask Guy Fieri who featured the diner in an episode of Diners, Drive-In’s, and Dives. The 3,705 sq. ft. eatery will open its South Tampa location at 4011 West Kennedy Blvd. and will feature a menu of everyone’s favorite diner classics. Serving all day breakfast, lunch and dinner, the diner will indulge the taste buds with new twists on traditional dishes made-from-scratch.

“Guests feel at home when they come to Metro Diner because we welcome them as if they are coming to our own house,” says Metro Diner founder and Chef Mark Davoli. “South Tampa is a tightknit community and we look forward to instilling that same sense of familiarity when our diner opens its doors in the heart of the city.”

Being creative with food, Davoli ensures guests can discover new delicious dishes by featuring daily blackboard specials such as Yo Hala on the Square boasting hala stuffed bread with banana, cream cheese, brown sugar and hazelnut syrup topped with blueberry or strawberry compote or even Pork Chops with a Spiced Apple Chutney, Key Lime Waffle and many more. The diner prides itself on quality ingredients and a scratch kitchen where they make their own sauces, soups and compotes. In addition, Metro Diner hand cuts their home fries and cracks fresh eggs daily. From its Fried Chicken and Waffles topped with house-made strawberry butter and signature sweet and spicy sauce, to its Charleston Shrimp & Grits, the large portion sizes enable every guest to enjoy a delicious meal at a great value, with most dishes priced under $15.

The diner will be hiring over 100 South Tampa-area residents. Applications to join the Metro Diner team will be accepted for all positions including servers, hosts, bartenders, and kitchen staff. Applicants are encouraged to fill out application online at metrodiner.com/employment.

The South Tampa community is invited to celebrate the arrival of Metro Diner at a special pre-opening charity event on Saturday, May 26 and Sunday, May 27. All proceeds will benefit the Spring of Tampa Bay and National Pediatric Cancer Foundation. Guests who provide a donation will get a sneak peek of the new eatery and enjoy Metro Diner favorites. Reservations can be made for the fundraiser both days from 9am to 1:30pm or 4pm to 7:30pm by calling the charity reservation line at 813-364-0076.

The diner will feature seating for 124 guests and will be open Sunday to Thursday from 7:00am. to 8:30pm, and Friday and Saturday from 7am. to 9pm.
