Two thousand eighteen has begun and it is time to be more conscious of your food and beverage intake. You could stop treating yourself to cocktail hour all together, but we can all guess the outcome of that. So, why not indulge in low-calorie cocktails instead?

Here are a few low-calorie cocktail recipes to ease your mind this year:

1. Banyan Reserve Vodka & Soda Water – A classic, vodka and soda rings in at one of the lowest calorie cocktails, averaging between 95-100 calories.

How to make:
Pour 1 oz. Banyan Reserve Vodka over ice and top with soda water. Garnish with a lime. If you want to add a little extra flavor to this cocktail, consider muddling lemon, lime or mint in the glass first.

2. Old St. Pete’s Whiskey Old Fashioned – Old Fashioned’s are good in that they allow you to control the calorie count by adding as little or as much sugar as preferred. This cocktail typically averages between 120 – 160 calories.

How to make:
Add desired amount of sugar and bitters of your choice to an Old Fashioned glass. Next, add 2 oz. Old St. Pete Sweet Corn Whiskey and stir until sugar is dissolved. Add in large ice cubes or a king cube to chill. Garnish with cherry and/or orange slice.

3. Oak & Palm Spiced Rum & Diet Cola – Despite the levels of caffeine this cocktail might have, it usually only averages between 95-100 calories.

How to make:
Over ice, pour 1.5 – 2 oz. of Oak & Palm Spiced rum and desired amount of diet cola to your glass. Stir gently, garnish with a lime.

4. Old St. Pete Tropical Gin Gimlet – Gimlet’s run a little bit higher in calorie count but still range somewhere between 150-200 calories depending on recipe.

How to make:
In a shaker, mix ice, 2 oz. Old St. Pete Tropical Gin and 1 oz. lime OR lemon juice. Shake well and strain into a martini glass. Serve with a lemon or lime slice.

Although extremely simple, these cocktails will ensure you keep your calorie count in check while still getting to have a good time. Be sure to avoid sweet fruit juices and mixers that are high in sugar. Happy New Year!
