Flying Cloud Tea & Gifts is a new loose-leaf tea shop in Dunedin, Florida. They opened their doors in October for a soft opening while they settled in and adjusted, and will have a Grand Opening in January after the hustle and bustle of the holidays.

Flying Cloud Tea & Gifts gets its name from a famous tea clipper ship from the 1800s as homage to the romance and adventure of tea’s rich history. Much like the tea clippers once did, Flying Cloud Tea & Gifts carries tea from all around the world right to here in Dunedin.

The shop boasts over 130 different loose teas and herbals, which have been passionately procured by the owners. Nearly every variety of tea can be found, including an extensive list of traditional teas, flavored teas, matcha, and caffeine free options. Customers are encouraged to take their time and come with questions so the owners can help find that perfect tea; or simply relax while browsing the variety of gifts and accessories. The rustic wood bar, made by co-owner Nick Spears, is an ideal setting to taste, smell and learn. Customers can purchase loose tea in different weight increments as well as brewed by the cup, hot or iced. Unique to Flying Cloud, customers can get a sample of any tea brewed on the spot, to taste; the first sample cup is always free, with additional samples starting at only $1.75.

The shop is locally owned and operated by husband and wife team Nick & Nicolette Spears. The couple come from Louisville, Kentucky where they have owned a different tea shop for nearly 6 years. Co-owner Nicolette Spears brings a wealth of knowledge with over 10 years in the tea industry. Wanting to expand and open a new shop, the two looked to the Tampa Bay area, where they fell in love with the quaint town of Dunedin. While not in the walkable downtown area, the shop is conveniently located near US-19.

Join in the celebration all weekend long January 19th-21st for special sales, free samples, demos, and refreshments. Daily demos include a Matcha demonstration at 1:30pm and Tea Cocktail tasting at 4pm.
